Barry’s Bizarre Press Conference

Anyone catch it? He chokes up and cries in the final minute and leaves this bombshell:

“I can only promise you one thing: when I get out of coaching, it will be my decision and not someone else’s.”

Almost like he’s hinting something and giving substance to the Governor rumors.

That was not exactly it... I watched it about 10 times... He said I WANT it to be my decision to get out of coaching, but if someone else makes that decision that is okay...

It really sounded like if I make the NCAAT I will resign and go out of my terms, and if we fail this weekend I don't have a choice but I understand and that will be okay too.

Earlier in the year he referenced a coach at the end who said "The good feeling after wins does not last as long and the hurt after losses lingers forvever".

I want Barry to be gone, but in fairness to him he has had a very hard 2 years of coaching with his seat so hot and fans and donors so upset. I think he is done regardless because I do not think he is having fun the last few years.

Barry is an emotional guy. He said similar things towards the end of his MSU run. I do feel bad for him. He's a good guy and a decent coach (IMO). But he just can't ever get over the hump as a head coach.

I don't think he has learned or grown as a coach from day one. He really is in the wrong profession. Talking is his game.

There is a comment on an Oklahoma reddit sub mentioning about 12 possible governor candidates and Barry Hinson is listed along with the high schools he coached + ORU.
