They should just make Dirtbags the official name for all teams. Doesn't really make a lot of sense outside baseball but I'm a sucker for unique mascots.

The 49ers mascot never really made much sense for Long Beach anyhow. The vibe there isn't exactly "gold rush westerners toting guns" anyhow.

And Valpo should never, ever change their mascot. Crusaders is an awesome team nickname.

I think he means "unique" meaning it'd be unique for that school, because no other school is called the "Dirtbags."

But I personally don't think that "Dirtbags" makes sense outside of their baseball time, especially because it's a moniker that currently is exclusive to that team because of its relation to baseball.
