This helps Power 5 teams, if you look at most upsets in NCAA history it has been done with the 3 point shot, now over time players will adjust and it will become less of an issue, but power 5 teams with their larger more athletic players will have an advantage from this.

Top 12 All time leading 3+pointers:
Fletcher Magee-Wofford
Travis Bader-Oakland
J.J. Redick-Duke
David Holston-Chicago State
Chris Clemons-Campell
Keydren Clark-Saint Peter's
Damon Lynn-NJIT
Kevin Foster-Santa Clara
Tyler Hall-Montana State
Chris Lofton-Tennessee
Akeem Richmond-Rhode Island/East Carolina
Stephen Curry-Davidson

Didn't want to list all of them, but of the Top 25 all time 3-point shooters, only six are from the P5

Who does this hurt? Some of the more exciting teams like Saint Mary’s, Belmont, IONA, etc.

But as a league who’s ranked 1st in defense and 32nd in offense in prior years, this could play right in the Valley’s hands.

This could hurt Missouri State, which shot something like 800% from three in two wins over Loyola last year.

This might actually help Valpo. We've recruited some international players that are already used to shooting at this distance.

I think the impact will be slightly lower 3pt shooting % and will create a little more space to be exploited by good coaches.

This is where the college line should be. Let's get the 24 second shot clock and quarters and call it a day.

Genuine question, why is a 24 second shot clock so much better than 30? I never really understood that. I get that you will have more possessions in a game and theoretically more points but with less time to score, I would expect quality of shot to go down as well as shooting percentages. I'm not really for or against either amount of time, just never understood why many people seem to think 24 will be better.

It just forces a faster pace. Teams now waste 6-8 seconds walking the damn ball up the court. It's a full cout game. A 24 second shot clock helps make it more of that.

The quality of shots wouldn't go down. Maybe at first because of the adjustment but once teams and, more importantly, coaches, adjust the quality of shots would equalize.

And the best shots don't come late in the shot clock anyway. They come early. The shots now from five down on the shot clock aren't near as good as ones early in the clock - generally speaking.

Bottom line for me - its a full court, fact paced game with great athletes. Let's let the athletes play it that way and have less coaches controlling every single movement on the court.
