Roman Penn out for season

Penn injured his foot in yesterday's game, out for season.

Joe Yesufu will fill in for Penn. Yesufu has been amazing the last few games, but there is nobody to back him up.

Third year in a row Bulldogs have been decimated by injuries.

In 2018-19, they lost Nick Norton (best player on team) in the first MVC game, and then lost DJ Wilkins and Nick McGlynn down the strecth

2019-20 Tremell Murphy was top returning player...missed all but 5 games with injury. Joe Yesufu missed almost entire MVC season with injury.

2020-21 Hemphill and Penn, arguably Drake's two best players.

Sorry to see that injury yesterday and even worse to hear Penn is out for the season. I wouldn't count the Bulldogs out, Yesufu is a ball of energy, Sturtz hustle plays are a joy to watch, DJ Wilkins is almost a shutdown defender, Murphy can be the best player on the court. Hands down DeVries is the best coach in the Valley. Need Brodie to wake up and start contributing.

Losing a first team all-conference point guard will hurt you every day regardless of how many points his backup went for the day before.

Probably????? 32 points and 5 assists off the bench is more than probably. He could have had 40 if DeVries didn't take him out with 7-8 minutes to go (which was absolutely the right thing to do)

UE couldn't stop Brodie at all yesterday, but he took himself out of the game with fouls. If he stays out of foul trouble, he can probably drop 25 on UE. Drake's three centers combined for 20 yesterday.

That really sucks! Hopefully Drake can get these next 3 games, and than make it to Sunday in St. Louis (unless you meet up with the Redbirds .). Bulldogs deserve to be in the Dance.
