Got to see this new Bears squad for the 1st time , although several top players [ Graham, Chance Moore, Damien Mayo] were unavailable. But with 17 on roster, that still left a lot of players to observe and the competition was good. Just a couple observations ; we are significantly longer overall and much quicker at the guards than in some time. Felt our lack of quickness at guard has been a big factor defensively recently , so was encouraged to see guys like Kendle Moore, Alston Mason, and Matthew Lee get at it. Got a lot of 6'6 -6'9 athletes to go with that increased quickness at guard. Now can CDF bring it all together .

Imagine telling someone 16 months ago that you went and watched a Missouri State team led in tenure by Donovan Clay.

Yeah actually our longest tenured player is Raphe Ayres; he played 44 minutes as a freshman in the 20-21 season, then redshirted last year. Technically he can still be a freshman eligibility wise , but he's been here the longest. It's pretty amazing both ways; what we lost and what we've been able to bring in. It is the best collection of athletes I've seen here , but how well and quickly they'll meld together i have no clue. I'll probably pick us in the 3-5 range; could be better, could be worse, but if CDF gets about 6-8 of these guys on the same page, we could be very salty as the season evolves. We've got size, length, experience, quickness, and some proven scorers, but right now we don't even know each others names.

This is Donovan Clay's team though ; he's doing a great job leading/mentoring.
