I like the hire, but the IU job is toxic. I hope he understands what he’s getting into by going there. It’s incessant. That said, the financial backing if he wins will be substantial. The NIL is widely believed to be top 5. It’s not only winning at IU, it’s how you win and who and where the recruits come from. All Indiana Mr. Basketball winners must go to IU, or it’s on the head coach for failing to land them. The fans want Indiana to be made up of Indiana kids. That’s what he signed up for at IU. If it doesn't work out at IU then all he would have to show for it by the end of the contract is being a multi-millionaire who can go sit on a beach every day if he wants. Sounds like a fair trade-off for having a toxic job for a few years.
