Redbirds Win the Prestigious College Basketball Invitational

Redbirds take home the crown and get the coveted CBI trophy after a 79-68 victory over Cleveland State! Some are saying this is the most prestigious trophy in all of College Athletics. Nice to see the boys finish the season strong, hopefully the core group of Sophomores/Freshmen all return to keep the improvements going into next season.

A Championship is a Championship! The same qualities, character and drive is used. It helps bonds teams and in this day of transfer portal seduction, that's a good thing. The team could possibly see bigger things down the road seeing as this group put together and executed a plan at a championship level. The Title makes a good recruiting tool, telling recruits that they could be a part of taking the Redbirds to the next level with a core that just won a championship.

Heard they were going to rename it the Chris Lowery Invitational to match an appropriate coach to the level of play...

Three extra weeks of practice, a week @ Daytona Beach, three extra basketball games to improve for next season. Did I mention, a week @ Daytona Beach? What were the Salukis doing the last three weeks?
