The Contenders Remaining Schedules

Postby Kip Dynamite » January 30th, 2011, 10:54 pm

WSU = @ISUb, Ill St, SIU, @UNI, @Eville, CU, @MSU

MSU = @Eville, ISUb, BU, @Ill St, DU, @SIU, WSU

UNI = Ill St, @ DU, @Eville, WSU, @BU, ISUb, @CU

ISUB = WSU, @MSU, Ill St, DU, @SIU, @UNI, SIU

Man, looking this over, Wichita State's schedule is still brutal. While no games are ever easy in the Valley, I'd have to rank the remaining schedules in this order (from easiest to hardest).

1. MSU
2. UNI
3.WSU (tie)
4.ISUb (tie)

It's quite possible that the conference is going to get decided by Evansville...three of the four contenders play @UE late in the season.

I agree and I think that if the Bears get passed them on Wednesday then they should be in very good shape.

Once you factor in the vendetta that the officials have against the bears, you surely have to move them down the list.

This thing changes on a week by week, sometimes a game by game basis. There really aren't a lot of gimmes in this league.. away or HOME.

I will admit that WSU appears to have the more difficult lineup compared to MSU and UNI, but then again, WSU has played better on the road than they have at home.

UE is in everyone schedule at Roberts, except ISUB, who the Aces swept. Is there a Purple Elephant in the room? :huh:

Wednesday night, you'll see WSU fans routing for the Aces to win...Never thought I'd see the day. Heeeeck they'll probably make the trip to Roberts

WarrenNolan's bracket projection has Wichita as one of the last four in, playing in a play-in game against UCLA. Missouri State is listed as a 12 seed.

I guess we could look at this glass half-empty or glass half-full. On one hand we are projected with 2 bids, on the other-they are not real strong and any kind of upsets will knock them out.

I guess I look at it, and throw UNI (who is only about 4-5 spots behind WSU in RPI) into the mix as well, as if the top three get on a roll here and only lose to one of the other two from here out, we could be a situation where all three might be in the discussion. Can't have any slip ups though. UNI already has that with the SIU game (and the Iowa game from non-con). Would also be nice if Indiana State or Creighton could claw their way back into the top-100-just not at the expense of MSU, WSU or UNI.

It would be a lot of fun if it came down to the final game of WSU vs. Mo St. I would hope that game would get picked up by ESPN.
