Shox at Bears picked up by ESPN2

The Wichita State game at Missouri State has been picked up by ESPN2. Good publicity for the Valley.

ST. LOUIS -- ESPN notified the Missouri Valley Conference of its selection of the league-leading Wichita State at Missouri State men's basketball game for air on ESPN2 on Saturday, February 26, at noon Central, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced today.

The selection of this telecast for ESPN2 marks the fourth time that ESPN has used a "Wildcard" process to determine one of its MVC men's basketball telecasts. The ESPN2 telecast will also be simulcast on ESPN3.com -- ESPN's broadband network for live sports programming.

"The Wildcard selection process gives us the opportunity to televise our top teams at the most crucial point of the season," said MVC Commissioner Elgin. "ESPN is a tremendous partner for the Missouri Valley Conference, and this selection recognizes the seasons by Missouri State and Wichita State."

Makes sense.

This will be a good opportunity for the committee to get a good look at both before the MVC tourney.

Now if we can just get them to televise/promote the MWC/MVC challenge then this thing might have a chance to take off.

Won't happen. The Mtn network has the broadcast rights to the games taking place at the MWC sites. To be honest, but for that contract, the MWV/MVC challenge wouldn't exist as nobody else was the least bit interested in televising any of the games.

Fox Sports would much rather televise Mizzou playing Sisters of the Poor

ESPN may reconsider after seeing the SIU over WSU at WSU result. Not good. The Valley's top programs have to beat the weaker programs at home !
There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

Not really. I think it is pretty fair assumption that one of those two teams will most likely get the auto-bid.

Yep, WSU lost to SIU.

Let's put freaking Evansville on tv. They have a legitimate reason to be on the deuce.
