NCAA indoor track championships

This Friday and Saturday the NCAA indoor track and field championships take place at Arkansas. The MVC has had at least one NCAA champion for 8 straight NCAA meets (indoor/outdoor combined), and has had an NCAA champion crowned in 10 of the past 12 NCAA meets (again, indoor/outdoor combined).

MVC women competing this weekend.

women's 400 meter - Althia Maximilien - Missouri State

women's 3000 meter run - Aliphine Tuliamuk-Bolton - Wichita State

women's 5000 meter run - Aliphine Tuliamuk-Bolton - Wichita State

women's high jump - J'Lynn Ledesma - Wichita State

women's shot put - Felisha Johnson - Indiana State, Brittany Smith - Illinois State

women's weight throw - Felisha Johnson - Indiana State, Brittany Smith - Illinois State

women's indoor Pentathlon - Tanya Friesen - Wichita State

Indiana State's Felisha Johnson just won the NCAA title in the women's weight throw! She won by over 4 FEET. This continues the MVC streak to 9 straight meets with at least one NCAA champion!

ILS's Brittany Smith finished 5th, earning 4 points for the redbirds.

Althia Maximilien finishes 13th for MSU in the women's 400.

J'Lynn Ledesma from WSU ends 14th in the HJ

Aliphine Tuliamuk-Bolton finishes 3rd in the women's 5000

Tanya Friesen - WSU was 14th in the Pentathlon, she battled an injury all day
