Akoy Agua 2013 PF (Omaha Central) 4 star

Elite talent in the class of 2013. Agua is now 6-8 and has offers from plenty of BCS and MVC schools including Creighton and Indiana State. He attends Omaha Central HS which is located within walking distance of the Creighton campus. I saw him at Qwest a couple of weeks ago for a Jays game, but he will have lots of offers so it's anybody's at this point.

Not completely sure that Indy St is still in the mix...unless Lansing has taken over his recruitment. My brother was the first Div I coach to go see Akoy Agau work out last season...which really baffled me about why Creighton, a school that is literally a stones throw from Omaha Central, had not gone by to see him. I'm not certain Kev is done recruiting Agau for Oregon...haven't asked him.

Agua would be an awesome get for Creighton as would Mike Gesell from South Sioux City. The state of Nebraska doesn't churn out many 4 star basketball prospects so I know a lot of the schools in these parts have been on these kids for a while.

Agua had a triple double in the state semis.
LINCOLN — Omaha Central, with sophomore center Akoy Agau, again outmatched Norfolk and now is a victory away from its fifth Class A championship in six years.

Agau's triple double of 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocked shots was the glittery statistic Friday of the Eagles' 70-59 win at the Devaney Center. A year ago in a 71-58 finals win over the Panthers, as a 6-foot-8 freshman, he had 18 points, 15 rebounds and nine blocked shots.

“(Agau)'s the best recruit in Nebraska since (Erick) Strickland and (Andre) Woolridge,” said Markowski, an Ord, Neb., native.

“If he continues to work, he'll be a top-50 recruit in the country.

Agau, whose list of offers includes Nebraska, Creighton and Marquette, is 6-foot-8, 220 pounds. Markowski projects him at 6-10, 240 when he hits college. Agau has great timing, great hands. He can run and jump.

He can dominate, but sometimes Agau disappears. His numbers — 10 points and 6 rebounds per game — don't jump off the stat sheet.

“If he averaged 10 and 6 and got 40 touches a game, I'd be concerned,” Markowski said. “But the way Central plays, they press, they get a lot of turnovers and a lot of fast breaks. They see a lot of zone. ... If he gets the ball on the block, Akoy's going to score.”

Central coach Eric Behrens sees Agau playing like Doug McDermott at the college level. Inside-outside. Agau could do it in a BCS league, though.

We knew he wasn't coming to Creighton and had our class full already but Agau committed to Pitino and Louisville during an in home visit last night.
