Cooper Neese transfers from Butler to Indiana State

The 7th leading scorer in Indiana HS history left Butler Sunday, then signed with ISU Monday.

From what all I've read this is a HUGE get for ISU. He never played a minute for Butler.

He can begin playing for ISU when the Fall semester ends in 2018

You can read about it here

Always nice to get transfers from higher level program; average rating at Verbal commits was 2.3 stars which is similar to what the Gelon kid the Bears got from IU was. Congrats to ISUb

Neese is a better player than Gelon. But I also think Neese was an MVC level player all along. That said, still a good get for the Sycs.

Why'd he leave Butler? Was is just an inability to see the floor?

Nobody seems to know the exact reason. He has stated that it has been a 2-3 month decision on whether Butler was the right fit for him. Some speculate that it might of been playing time this year (he has to sit out anyways once he transferred though), some think it might of been the balance of social, academic, and student athlete life at BU and others seem to think it might of been a homesickness type situation. Cloverdale is a small tight knit community and a lot of Neese' family/friends/supporters are in and around Terre Haute compared to the big city of Indy.
