Redbird Recruits 2025

Postby Adunk33 » August 27th, 2024, 3:13 pm

Pedon strikes early. After a great weekend of visits, the Redbirds got commitments from all three of their targets, many of whom had other MVC offers and cancelled visits to other Valley schools.

6'2 PG, Tyreke Coleman, Aurora, IL. PG on a 27-3 Waubonsie Valley team last season. Couldn't find a list of all of his offers but he cancelled visits to UNI and Colorado State. He averaged 14.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals a game last season. No. 6 '25 prospect in IL.

6'8 Wing, Issac Ericksen, Cary, NC. Held offers from Umass Lowell, UNC-A, EKU, Furman, Mercer, Ark St, and CoC. Ericksen has led the team in scoring and rebounding for three straight seasons while showing considerable improvement in his game. He and his team have gotten better each year, elevating their record from 12-14 to 19-9 to 29-2.

6'10 C, Nick Allen, Bourbonnais, IL. Had offers from Bradley, Belmont, Murray State, Penn, LuC, SIU, INST, Bryant, Valpo and EIU. Cancelled visits to Drake and Murray State. Top Center in Illinois class of '25 according to some recruiting sites, top 12 in the state for '25. 19 points, 9 rebounds as a Jr.

The Redbirds have added another piece to their class of '25.

Mason Klabo is a 6'2, 180lb guard out of Fargo, ND. He is on pace to become the all-time leading scorer in North Dakota high school history. He came of the bench for Davies High School varsity as an 8th grader and has started since his freshmen year at a school with 1300 kids.

27.3ppg, 7.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists as a Jr.

Held offers from DePaul, UNI, INST, ND, NDSU, Wyo, Chattanooga, Omaha, and Miami OH. After visiting this past weekend, he cancelled a visit to DePaul.

I'm confident that 10 years ago, these kids wouldn't have been available at this level. Pedon is certainly taking advantage of P5 coaches putting less of an emphasis on recruiting HS kids that aren't 5* and letting teams at our level vet them out first.

We'll see how Pedon does at retention. So far, so good but next off season will be telling.
