2018 MVC Recruits

As stated in other threads Indiana State got another good recruit in 6' 4" shooting guard Cooper Neese. Neese is a 3* from Cloverdale, IN (close to Terre Haute) and finished 7th All-Time in Indiana high school basketball scoring with 2,496 points. He had scholarships offers from Indiana State, Ball State, Evansville, and Butler after his Freshman and Sophomore seasons, while averaging 21 and 17.7 points per game. Then he committed to Butler before his Junior year campaign where he then blew up and started to average 29.5 and 27.2 PPG along with 9 rebounds & 3 assists per game. Neese is an ELITE shooter and has added to his all-around game with his athletic build. If nothing else, Neese has already created A LOT of pub for ISU and has a very big following in the area which should help with attendance and awareness in the state. He will be eligible to play AFTER the 2018 fall semester.

Biggest recruiting steal: Javon Freeman to Valpo

The recruitment of the 6-3 wing from Whitney Young, along with his commitment to coach Matt Lottich and Valparaiso, flew under the radar a bit.

Freeman helped lead the Dolphins to a Class 4A state championship last March and is among the top six senior prospects in Illinois. He’s an active and productive player who still possesses a tremendously high ceiling.
