I'm not sure Tyler was run off. He was a long shot to ever get playing time and I think he and everyone else realized that.

Paul Sullentrop just tweeted that Hawkins coach says he is scheduled to visit WSU Nov 13th. So who knows WSU may still have a chance.

Report is that Teddy is retaking the ACT in the next couple of weeks. If he gets the necessary scores, he'll be at Creighton with Andre. If he doesn't, it will be WSU or a school with similar entrance requirements.

Sounds like DePaul might be in the mix now too with former Dayton coach Oliver Purnell.
The University of Dayton men’s basketball coaches have told Deontae Hawkins that he is their top recruiting priority in the senior class, but they’ll have to fight a former UD coach to land the Dunbar High School star.

DePaul has climbed into Hawkins’ final list of five schools. Oliver Purnell, who had a nine-year stint at UD, is in his second season with the Blue Demons. Hawkins, a 6-foot-7 wing, plans to visit the Chicago school next month.

“I hope to have a good time and see if I like it or not and then become a Demon, maybe,” he said. “It’s the Big East. They’ve got a good team and are playing some good teams.”

Hawkins has made official visits to UD, Auburn and Creighton and still plans to check out Wichita State. Fitting in those last two trips may mean having to put off making a decision in time for the Nov.

All indications are that Hawkins will end up at a JUCO.

If he goes juco, maybe CU can get him next year and he can play with Andre after all!

If he goes juco, it's probably because he's a non-qualifier and will have to get his 2-year degree before going D1.

Hawkins will probably decide today and sign on Wednesday. It appears the final schools are Wichita State, Dayton and DePaul. Qualifying is still a major concern but it appears these schools are willing to take the chance.

From what I've gathered, CU stopped recruiting Teddy after it became apparent he would not be accepted. Interesting that WSU signed him even though they are over the scholie limit. I think it's probably part of a plan to try and get him to Wichita in 2 years after he completes JUCO with no real chance of him being there this fall so it's no problem to oversign in this case.
