From what I've gathered, CU stopped recruiting Teddy after it became apparent he would not be accepted. Interesting that WSU signed him even though they are over the scholie limit. I think it's probably part of a plan to try and get him to Wichita in 2 years after he completes JUCO with no real chance of him being there this fall so it's no problem to oversign in this case.

WSU has 5 seniors (Kyles, Toure, Smith, Stutz and Joe) and had one scholarship player leave the program making 6 openings. Ron Baker has been promised a scholarship next year and have 5 letter of intents. Therefore, based on announced scholarships they are not over.

Is it just me, or did it seem like all along that which ever team got the last visit from Hawkins was probably going to sign him. Good get by the Shockers, would have been interesting to see if he would have ever visited WSU if the Jays wouldn't have stopped recruiting him like some have been reporting.

Hopefully he figured out how to take his education as CU off his facebook.

I don't know about last visit being the reason, doesn't hurt though. Also I believe he really wanted to play with his buddy Yates and that had CU not balked at his academics he would be a bluejay. I understand why they did, he still hasn't qualified is my understanding (of course I'm basing that off what I learn on this amazing internet so who knows).

I hope he gets his school/testing in order, it will make for a great 2012 class for WSU.

EDIT: according to the kansas.com article he is not qualified as of now. His high school coach says it is attainable however. What that means exactly I have no clue, I'm just going to hope he gets it done and qualifies.

Without significant improvement, he couldn't get past the admissions office at Creighton, even if the NCAA deems him eligible in the spring. Too bad for us as I think he will be a good player.

You forgot about Malcolm Armstead, who is also supposed to get a scholly next year. (This according to Suellentrop recently). We''ll have to see what shakes out.

Here's a little highlight video of Dayton Dunbar HS.

Andre Yates (CU signee) and Teddy featured.

I believe Teddy is #3. I noticed the scoreboard at the end of the last clip showed Dunbar leading 57-10.

He is not currently at freshman orientation, although no official word on his status has been given.

This isn't a surprise, right? CU backed off over grades and I was a little shocked the shocks grabbed him. He'll be at a prep school or juco. He's a talent, I hope he gets it together academically.
