Ohio guard to Drake

Mark Alstork, a 6-3 guard from Dayton just committed to Drake, per his twitter feed. He's apparently the leading scorer on the #1 team in Ohio

Wow, looks like you got a great one. Leading scorer on the number one team in a big state. Howd Drake of all schools land him? lol just pullin ur leg.

As much as Drake fans bag on Phelps as a coach, the guy can recruit.

As far as Alstork, he was a late bloomer....Drake got the first visit, and he apparently really hit it off with our players.

Now, if there is a coaching change after this season, then this young man will probably end up somewhere else.

Here's a video of him against the #1 prep team in the country (a team with at least 7 D1 players). I liked the comments from a couple of Indiana fans at the bottom.

Looks like someone who good be one of the best guards in the valley if he keeps improving like he has been. If he is a late bloomer id imagine he will improve more than the typical guy from this point forward.

Alstork has decommited from Drake. It's also rumored that Joe Boyd, who signed with the Bulldogs in November, will not be coming to DU either.

With the departure of Micah Mason and the rumored departure of Jeremy Jeffers, this leaves Giacoletti and staff with as many as 4 openings to fill on the roster. One interesting rumor involves Aaron Hawley, who was forced out by Phelps after the 2011-12 season. Hawley stayed in school at Drake, and rumor is that he could rejoin the team next season. He would have one year of eligibility remaining.
