Juco 7-footer commits to the Shockers

Tom "Bush" Wamukota, a native Kenyan playing for Kilgore (TX) JC has committed to WSU. He didn't play much for a Texas NAIA school last year (where his mom is a volleyball coach). By the time he got declared eligible in mid-November he was already behind two senior post players in a full-court pressing system, so his minutes were limited. He did score 20 and pull down 15 boards in one game later in the season. Also, he's grown three inches since the start of last year.

I'm guessing he'll be similar to Orupke with a little more upside on the offensive end of the floor. It will be interesting to follow him this year as a starter on the pre-season #6 NJCAA team.

He chose WSU over St. Louis, after getting interest from Texas Tech, Auburn and Utah State.
