Belmont 2023 Incoming Class

6-9 Belmont signee, Drew Scharnowski, recently received some nice awards in Illinois. He was named to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association 1st team class 3A. He was also named to the Chicago Sun times Class 3A First Team All State.

Scharnowski is a good player.

It's really weird - so many Illinois HS kids go to school outside of the state. I'm sure there are many reasons for this. There are 20 players on the IBCA 3A/4A All State teams (the two biggest classes in Illinois.) Of those 20, only ONE is going to an Illinois school - Morez Johnson who is committed to Illinois but is a junior.

There is one uncommitted senior and one uncommitted junior in the group - the other 17 are all going to schools outside the state of Illinois. It's kind of odd really.

Before ISU fans get mad - Ty Pence is a first-team 2A guy and he is going to Illinois State.

Win Miller is another incoming freshman for Belmont. He was named Alabama 7A First Team. He played for Vestavia Hills HS (Birmingham) and also played for the Pro One basketball club.
