So why on earth is WSU rated so high on YOUR rating system if they're paper tiger? Why is Illinois State looking up at WSU in the rating system you chose to display your "argument"?

You used the system to compare both teams and their wins. So yes, in fact, you were comparing each team. You threw in the paper tiger reference to WSU because you thought you won the argument. When in fact, the team you were trying to tear down is actually ranked HIGHER than Illinois State. How in the hell is that even possible if Illinois State is a step above WSU on the at-large pecking order? So is Illinois State an even bigger paper tiger?? Whyyyyyyyy retire12? Whyyyyyyy?

I was never comparing ISU and Wichita per Massey. Not once.

False.

You list the opponents of both teams per Massey, then immediately, literally use the word compare in your post.

Then you talk about beating better teams.

Then you talk about manipulating the data to "tip the data in favor" of ISU.

That's one literal and 2 more completely obvious "comparisons" of the two teams, using Massey, that you claim you never did.

Let me slow this down for you.

I don't like RPI. I do like sagarin, kenpom, and Massey. I don't like the weight some of them put on margin of victory but I do like their analytical system of sorting teams better than RPI. Was that so hard? Please read in full and try to comprehend what's already been said before responding next time.

In my initial conversation with Hurley I declared Wichita a paper tiger. Because you are. Whether you're 20 or 200 spots better than is using that rating system or any other, it doesn't change YOUR resume. These aren't advanced concepts. You are a paper tiger.

Having lost that battle Hurley shifted to the I Know You Are But What Am I Defense.. he then wanted to compare resumes. So as not to shift ranking systems we kept using massey. In each one, ISUs collection of wins is comparatively better than Wichita's.

The original discussion wasn't comparing at all.
The discussion we shifted to after Hurley lost the first one was.

Another personal attack. That's 3 in a row folks. He must really be pissed. But he's a redbird fan and rule follower on this site. He's better than those name-calling WSU fans. (Notice I have not gone personal)

So let's get this straight, retire12 likes rating systems but doesn't like certain aspects behind said ratings systems. So when somebody brings up a major part of those ratings systems, it doesn't count. But when you talk about the rating system using those major parts, it's ok. Did I get that all correctly? All of this spinning just to try and get out of saying "I was wrong".

And not surprisingly, he totally ignored cdizzle's post, which called him out for the hypocrite he is. No acknowledgment means it's bad news for him. He'd rather ignore his losses than acknowledge them. Then he can't say that he lost.

So in conclusion, Illinois State is just as big, if not more of a paper tiger, than Wichita State is. retire12's numbers backed this up. If he can acknowledge that, then we can all move on.

However, I doubt it's gonna be that simple with Mr. Can't Lose roaming the premises.
