If he wanted to coach his son that badly, he could have come back to UNI to pursue his PhD in Education, become a Panther grad assistant, and emerged 4 years later as Dr. Gregory McDermott. :ugeek:

Hey, it worked for Tom Davis!

Exactly. That's the point. UNI was put into a lose-lose situation.

Mac was a miserable failure at ISU, and somehow, UNI is the one that is penalized the most by this.

-Little dougie was released from his LOI without any consequences (special treatment). The MVC lost all testicular fortitude when they decided to wave the in conference transfer rule and let little dougie play this year.

Do UNI fans really think Doug would picked UNI because he likes the facilites? the education? the city? Lets be honest the only reason he choose you is because the relationships "Mc$" built with the school and the staff.

Um, why exactly is he playing for creighton again? The city? nope. The rented facilites? nope. The educaction? nope. Lets really be honest, the ONLY reason he is at CU is because his dad made him come with him.

I might be mad if I was a Panter fan.

But I'm not.

If I was Greg I would tell my son all you have in life is your word and even though circumstances have changed you need to honor your commitment. I'd teach him about what it means to be a man and what it means to be a welcher.

If I was Doug I would tell my Dad I've decided that my word is my bond and I'm sticking to my commitments through thick and thin.

Tehehehe

City:
CU>>>>>>>>>>UNI

Facilities:
CU>>>>>>>UNI

Education:
CU>UNI (UNI does provide a very good education)

Its obvious Doug respected CU and the aforementioned qualities, because he had us in his final three despite the connections and lack of scholarship Creighton offered. I think that speaks volumes.

Your efforts to fuel this "rivalry" are working, I definitely consider UNI our 4th biggest rival now.

I still dont hate you tho :D

Macguy-- Do you really believe Doug is going to CU for any reason other than his Dad is the coach? If so, you are truly delusional and have not been paying very close attention to this issue.

I don't think the McD's owe us anything. I didn't like him when he was here. But don't expect a happy homecoming when you are at Creighton.

A couple of things;

Doug did have an offer from CU, but chose UNI.

Creighton doesn't even have a men's basketball facility. Have you seen UNI's facilites? Didn't think so.

Nobody at UNI considers CU their biggest rival.

Well then it is a good thing that Doug has some basketball ability to compensate for his lack of honor, feeble manhood, and inability to ignore all family ties. Hopefully, that whole basketball thing will take him somewhere and he won't have to rely on UNI for possible future career opportunities.
