Maybe it is a STL vs Springfield superiority issue and Elgin hates people from Springfield.

MSU lost because they didn't block out on UNI last shot.

Please just except that your team lost. The refs do not have anything against you, and the game was officiated just fine. Weems did foul at the end of the game.

Are Bear fans seriously gonna go this route again? Good Lord, you lost because you couldn't hit a basket in the last 5 minutes of the game and because Weems likes to foul in key situations.

Congrats Cats!
You guys have risen from an early grave and are now rollin. Crazy shot from Jake K, Moran was nails on the throws and defense was tough second half.
The foul at the end was no doubt a foul. The question is, was it a shooting foul? The replay should be conclusive. I don't know.....you decide. The double team on Weems where UNI "stole" the ball by both defenders fouling and the no call T on coach stealing the ball from the refs were both bad but you will get bad calls in any game. The refs weren't the cause of this loss!!!!! UNI made more plays at both ends. The Bears made huge plays too! Great game in another great atmosphere. Once again, congrats UNI.

Hell of a game to watch, woulda liked a different outcome but what can you do? Panthers are rolling and took advantage of a bears team that has been in auto pilot for 2 weeks now. Bears have to hit the gym and continue what they started. Well deserved win UNI, you played the best ball of the last 10 minutes. Nuff said

Wow. I thought the game was called very well tonight. As much grief as Surfer Boy (John Higgins) gets, he is one of the better officials in the country. He does a ton of Big games every week.

Not to turn this into a ref bashing thread, but if Kipp Kissinger is the worse.

What calls da bears do you question specifically?

Well, the good news is that the only team that has the tiebreaker against MSU is MVC Officiating, who has now defeated the Bears both at home and on the road. The call for Moran as a shooting foul was absolutely nonsensical, and that combined with the armbar that Weems fought through to get there and Leonard being abused on the last shot decided the game. Then again, that's the sort of thing that has made this a one-bid conference, and the rest of the regular season is now a glorified seeding exhibition for all Valley teams.

That said, UNI badly outcoached MSU tonight. The Bears had no clue what to do with the high screen, Leonard was a non-entity, and UNI controlled the pace in the second half. On top of that, there's no excuse for not using those extra fouls in the second half on the final UNI drive. They'll be a tough team the rest of the way for the Bears, as I expect it to be between these two teams for the title. Luckily MSU has the easier schedule, so if they can regroup from this one like they did against InSU they'll be okay.

This just in: MSU only loses games due to officiating.

Looks like you're not the only team who loses close games at home. So much for the JQH advantage.

Does a tip attempt qualify as shooting? I know you used to have to come down first. It definitely was a rebounding foul but don't know about the ruling on a tip.
Weems had his man boxed out but no one was left on that side to box out Moran.
Leonard wasn't fouled on the last shot.
