Interesting, although I'm not sure I'd put Porter Moser (Loyola) and Matt Lottich in the same category as the rest.

It would also be interesting to see a breakdown between who took over for a coach that was fired vs. those that took over for someone that left for a better job.

It would also be interesting to see a breakdown between who took over for a coach that was fired vs. those that took over for someone that left for a better job.


I think those are who took over under "favorable" conditions. Funny only Marshall really tanked under those circumstances. Obviously he got it headed the other way big time.

The three new coaches obviously took over for guys who got fired. Predicting any of them to be better than 4th in their first seasons would be a real, real stretch. Niko Medved appears to be the only one who got that high in his first season after taking over for a fired guy.

Lusk may have went 9-9 and finished 6th, but that was a massive underachievement with the talent that was left that year.

Yes and it turns out that first year .500 conference record was the best he could manage in 7 years.

Osiris is my favorite non-Drake MVC player ever. It's a tragedy he never made the tournament. The world needed to see him play on a bigger stage.
