Nevada is gonna be a tall order for any team next year. Absolutely stacked with talent.

Nevada will be strong again, but are still beatable as Loyola proved this past March. So IL gets a crack at them or Tulsa early on in November, after playing UMass first. Go Dawgs!

Didn't they sign a McDonald's All American type player?

They signed 5 star McDonalds All-American PF Jordan Brown who had offers from Arizona, Kansas, UCLA, Kentucky, etc.

The only team getting more hype than Nevada around here is Illinois State.

What's so out of the ordinary? UNLV landed a 5 star last year and is a top choice for another in 2019 and they're in the same conference as Nevada; moreover, Nevada's tournament run this past year coupled with Coach Musselman's personality (he seems like a coach players want to play for) makes Nevada a potentially attractive destination. Without a first round promise, it makes good sense to come back and chase a championship and any grad transfer will want to play for Nevada with that supporting cast and for the exposure if they want to play professionally one day.

You seriously comparing UNLVs history, location and prestige to Nevada's? Musselman can put out all the staged Twitter reaction videos he wants to but High School All Americans aren't beating down the door to get to freaking Reno...

Firstly, A lot of the so-called benefits of being in Vegas aren't even available to people coming straight out of high school. Second, Do you honestly think history and prestige that was earned before these recruits were even born means anything to high caliber recruits? This ls very much an instant gratification society. There are two things on the mind of most McDonald's All-Americans: Can you help me compete for a championship? and Can you enhance my chances of getting to the NBA? Nevada's coach has coached in the NBA? You think he might know a thing or two about what it takes? Meanwhile Nevada has AT LEAST THREE guys on their roster NOT named Jordan Brown who have a great chance to be drafted\make an NBA roster. UNLV can't match that as a program that hasn't danced since 2013 and hasn't won a game in the tournament since 2008. They have advanced past the second round exactly once since their last final four appearance in 1991 (2007) This is a Nevada team coming off its best or second best season in program history which included a deep tournament run that equals UNLV's best since 1991with a good chance of doing even better next year. (for the record Nevada has gotten at least that far twice in that span) Which one do you think seems more appealing to a recruit these days?
