I don't think it is saying SDSU is playing SDSU rather that the team that accepts the game would be playing SDSU. SDSU won't be the only game of the day at US Bank Stadium, so they are specifying (confirming) the team that accepts this game would be playing SDSU not one of the other teams there.

Seems silly to need to do it this way but I understand why it is.

I'm kind of confused where this came from. No one at SDSUfans.com seems to be talking about this game being part of the SDSU schedule.

Monmouth is the eighth team to round out the field for the Myrtle Beach Invitational. They join Valpo Cal State Fullerton Western Kentucky UCF St Joseph's Wake Forest and West Virginia Valpo will also play a non bracketed game @WVU as well as a game against another team from the Sweet 16.
