SIU only down 3 at the half @ Kentucky. Go Salukis!

Unfortunately SIU really faded down the stretch and succumbed to Kentucky's speed size and length. Late turnovers cold shooting from outside and Kentucky's rebounding prowess doomed the Salukis chances of coming back and scoring a massive upset. That said Pippen Cook Bol and the team defense looked good the game was closer than the score would indicate and Barry's bunch have nothing to hang their heads about. If they play like they did tonight throughout the year they're going to be just fine and win a lot of games. Despite the opening loss it should be a good year in Carbondale.

Iknow it's early and I know Furman has a good program but that is a really tough loss to take for at-large hopes. Hopefully Loyola can right the ship but their already thin margin for error just got thinner.

Credit Furman. Paladins will have a good season and outtoughed the Ramblers to earn a deserving win. Loyola doesn’t have the schedule to overcome that loss. That was ISU/Murray from 2 years ago. It’ll be on ISU’s (or SIU’s) shoulders to leave no doubt for an at-large.

Loyola has an amazing student section. They should flip the court/camera upside down.

Brutal loss; credit to furman; but this is where it’s clear 50% of the team has never averaged more than 3 minutes a game (and only features 3 upperclassman...),; the team started so sluggish; and got nothing from the new pieces. It’ll come with time; but I could see them dropping a few more over non con as the new pieces grow. The season hinges on the young pieces filling out the bench.

Bears beat Robert Morris by 14 despite offensive woes, but the days of a slow, draggin' offense are lost in the dust of our rear-view mirror.

Buffalo just won in Morgantown. SIU better be ready because it looks like the Bulls are for real.
