Fantasy VALLEY Basketball

Postby 45otseoj » November 26th, 2010, 4:11 am

Hey fellas. My buddies and I are doing a MVC fantasy league this season. Each player has a fantasy point total which consists of points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and turnovers.

Points + Rebounds + Assists + Steals + Blocks - Turnovers = Fantasy points

Our season doesn't start until the conference schedule starts, but we're tracking stats already. Here are the top players thus far:

CU, Antoine Young: 16.5 + 4.5 + 4 + 1.8 + 0 - 1.8 = 25 (4 games)
MS, Kyle Weems: 14.2 + 7.5 + 1.7 + 1 + 0.7 - 1.5 = 23.6 (6 games)
BU, Andrew Warren: 17.2 + 5.7 + 1.5 + 0.8 + 0 - 1.8 = 23.4 (6 games)
CU, Kenny Lawson Jr: 14 + 7.5 + 1 + 0.3 + 0.8 - 0.3 = 23.3 (4 games)
DU, Seth VanDeest: 14 + 6 + 1.3 + 1 + 1.3 - 0.3 = 23.3 (3 games)
EU, Colt Ryan: 16.8 + 3.8 + 2.8 + 1.5 + 0.3 - 2.3 = 22.9 (4 games)
IN, Carl Richard: 11.2 + 9.6 + 1.8 + 0.6 + 0.6 - 2.6 = 21.2 (5 games)
EU, Kenny Harris: 13.3 + 6.8 + 0.5 + 0.8 + 1.5 - 2.5 = 20.4 (4 games)
WS, Toure' Murry: 13.3 + 4.5 + 3.3 + 0.5 + 0.3 - 1.5 = 20.4 (4 games)
WS, David Kyles: 15.5 + 2.5 + 1.5 + 1 + 0.3 - 1 = 19.8 (4 games)

MVC-MWC MVPs
Points + Boards + Assists + Steals + Blocks - TOs = Total
CU, Doug McD: 20 + 12 + 3 + 1 + 0 - 0 = 32
DU, Ryan Wedel: 16 + 4 + 1 + 0 + 0 - 1 = 20
DU, Ray Rice: 14 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 2 - 3 = 20
SI, Kendal B-S: 10 + 5 + 8 + 1 + 0 - 1 = 23
IL, Austin Hill: 15 + 1 + 2 + 0 + 0 - 2 = 16
NI, Kawadzo Ahelegbe: 25 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 0 - 4 = 27
IN, Dwayne Lathan: 18 + 5 + 0 + 0 + 0 - 4 = 19
BU, Andrew Warren: 27 + 10 + 2 + 4 + 2 - 3 = 42
WS, David Kyles: 18 + 1 + 0 + 1 + 1 - 0 = 21
EU, Colt Ryan: 20 + 8 + 2 + 0 + 0 - 3 = 27

Sidenote: SIU's Mykel Cleveland has a stat line of starting, playing 1 minute, 1 turnover, and 4 fouls... Is that correct?

sadly it is
2 fouls by the 19:40 mark in the 1st half, made it about 30 seconds in the second before his 3rd and 4th fouls

yeah, cause two guys from SIU are having better years and are more likely POY candidates than Ahelegbe

I love statistics based ratings systems, makes the confused looks on peoples faces when UNI walks away with another W all the more satisfying.

It's no secret; UNI players aren't good picks with this point system.
"Jacobsen ball" doesn't allow for consistently large stat outputs.
Fewer possesion allow for fewer chances to do anything.
