Just 2 men made it this year, a down year again. Meet is June 5th-8th at Texas
Illinois State
Jack Anstey punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships with a time of 3:41.81 in the 1,500. Anstey’s time was not only a personal-best for the junior but also an Illinois State school record. The previous record of 3:42.19 was set by MVC Hall-of-Famer and NCAA All-American Christian Goy in 2001 and had stood untouched for 18 years.
Northern Iowa
Darius King topped his personal best throw by a large margin and just short of the school record to finish eighth at the NCAA West Preliminaries and punch his ticket to the NCAA National Track and Field Championship and highlight the final day of prelims for the UNI track and field team. On his third throw, recorded a toss of 19.32m (63-4¾). He is just the third Panther in school history to surpass 19m in the outdoor shot put.
