Drake leads UNI 39-35... Gosh darn refs right guys?

Seriously though Drake played an OUTSTANDING half. Penn and Robbins are great players. Robbins truly is special. Their defense deserves a lot of credit for this performance.

A.J. Green's range is ridiculous. He is an NBA Caliber scorer. But I get the sense that they are relying on him too much. Berhow had a nice half early to keep them in it but somebody needs to step up if they're going to win this game. I know this much: playing like this is not going to win them any games on the road and this game marks the start of a really tough stretch for the Panthers. Drake ISUr (who beat them) @Loyola (who nearly beat them on the road) @ISUb SIU (who beat them) UE @Drake.

Drake is a ridiculously good team. The future is really bright in Des Moines. I can't wait to see round II between these two schools at the Knapp Center. It took a POY type performance from Green for the Panthers to win. Very impressive effort by the Bulldogs. They have nothing to hang their heads about. UNI has got to be better though if they want to keep hope alive. Green can't be expected to bail them out every time.

What a battle, Murphy/Robbins vs Green was fun!

Just curious if I’m alone here.... but does anyone else not enjoy watching AJ Green play? He’s pretty ball dominant, and they run a lot of iso pick and rolls with him pulling up from 3/drawing fouls.... his style kinda reminds me of James Harden(which is consistent;I really don’t like watching the rockets).

That said, don’t get me wrong. He is a damn good talent; I’m not knocking the strategy or him as a player one bit, the kids special and it clearly works (as it does with Harden). Just not my favorite to watch as a neutral fan (I’m also sure if he was on my team I’d be losing my mind and loving it... even with what I said some of those contested shots were still sick)

I totally get what you're saying but watching him pull up with a fraction of an inch to get a shot off or throwing up some off balance shot at the end of the shot clock from 30+ feet and splashing it as though it was a layup then going down toward the block and kissing it off the window a few possessions later is just an amazing array of scoring talent. I love watching Green when his full arsenal is on display. Of course I do think UNI becomes a little too dependent on him as I've stated but he is incredible and a next level scorer. He's also putting some serious distance between himself and his competition in the POY race. That was a true POY performance today and I am thrilled that I got to watch it. A.J. Green is appointment television for me and I watch him whenever he's on. Watching that kind of scoring talent in the MVC is a special thing and we should take the opportunity to appreciate it while we can.

Bulldogs just don't have enough depth to close out on the road....been playing most of the conference season with only 7 scholarship players available. A lot of what-ifs this year if team had stayed healthy.

Gotta given UNI credit...they were 11-19 from 3, many of those with a Drake player right in their grill.

I haven't really watched much UNI this year. Does Green always make those shots? If so how do they ever lose?

He makes them a lot more than he doesn't That's for sure. I still don't know how UNI has two conference losses or really any losses given how they controlled West Virginia until the final stretch. I really hope they get in this year because they are clearly our best team.

Report out of Peoria is that Elijah Childs will probably play tomorrow against Evansville. He was cleared by doctors and been practicing last couple of days
