Dear Lord, thank you for Marcus Domask! The great pass from Ronnie Suggs has to be noted as well and the overall great game of Barrett Benson. Wow......Al Michaels was not in attendance for those of you who may be wondering.

LOVE IT!

I loved the electricity and seeing such a great crowd in Carbondale. That fanbase deserves something to cheer about. I hope the best is yet to come for them in the Mullins era.

Thoughts on this? As UNI enters a defining stretch it's important to consider their resume. I do agree that the WVU loss really stings but South Carolina is quietly putting together a nice year and it is past time to stop calling that SIU loss a bad loss. It really looks like it's about to become a Q2 game. They're the second best team in this conference right now.

Had a commitment last night so sorry this is late. I know how much you guys love heading from me :)

What a performance by Drake yesterday. They came into a sold out hornets nest and were the better team for 35 minutes. As Darian said afterwards, the only reason they didn't win is because AJ Green plays for UNI. I was blown away by the poise and preparation. They really exploited UNI's defensive choices. Honestly, regardless of result, they played us better than any team we've seen this year.

That said, AJ was absolutely special yesterday. He has this innate feel of when he needs to be selfish and when he needs to take over a game. There isn't a moment that intimidates him. It's an incredibly rare trait in any player, let alone a true shine playing his 58th college game. He's 12 points away from 1000 already and it's well on his way to a 3 time Player of the Year, 2500 point career.

One other quick thought

We all know this is a coach's league. I think we're starting to see the value of having a guy on the bench that WANTS to be where he is. Just seems to me like guys that come in and want to offer stability (DeVries, Mullins) work out a helluva lot better than always trying to find the 'Next Big Thing'...

Sounds a lot like Bradley.

SIU is a few years away but this run has been good to get the fans back.

Last I checked, SIU is all alone in second place right now.

I see a lot of Valley games and UNI games. Green seemed to be at his best and you are right he stepped up even more at the end. What surprised me was almost no matter the shot, long NBA range or more, one handed fall away, Fall away high arch, running long sideways motion three all had the same result. Nothing but net! No weird slop shots that bounced off the glass or rim. His Accuracy is uncanny. I thought Murphy did a good job on him, but the fall away and accuracy makes him almost impossible to stop. Looking forward to the game in Des Moines.

A first round loss or a finals appearance at Arch, neither would surprise me right now. The team is young and a few years away from their peak imo (provided they can find a quality big after Bensen leaves).
