This UNI Loyola game being a rematch, I noticed that both UNI and Loyola have both had 4 MVC rematches this year. In each rematch, UNI did better in terms of +/- scoring margin than they did in the first meeting. Loyola on the other hand, did worse. I'm wondering if this is just small sample size noise or if this is possibly a metric you can use to evaluate coaches and their ability to make adjustments. I may do some research on this sometime when I'm bored.

I did stumble on an interesting chart that looks at a coaches record in close games. This seems to be a decent evaluation tool as the coaches towards the top are guys who tend to be recognized as good coaches.

Bradley over SIU 43-25 at the half in Carbondale.

One of these defenses is not like the other.

With Elijah Childs I think Bradley is the most talented team in the MVC. They will definitely give UNI all they can handle in St Louis.

That got hairy for BU, but they pull it out on the road 69-67. In a way these kinds of games are more helpful down the stretch than blowout wins. Not going to be many blowouts under the Arch, so a nice character builder for the Braves.

I have no words... For either half of that game... Just wow! What a finish by Valpo! I hope that sparks us into the top six!

Fantastic game in Chicago tonight.

Loyola won that thing in the first 10 minutes by playing really, really well.

How about a rubber matchup on Sunday in StL on CBS?

As a fan of the MVC I'd be totally into that! That game was amazing! I flipped over to it after the comeback and was not disappointed! Krutwig is amazing and it might be time to open up the POY race to include him. He was huge for them in this game.

Deal.

Although Bradley may have something to say about that. May get a Bradley/Loyola semi Saturday in the 2/3 game. Arch Madness will be a lot of fun this year. Can't wait.

Who knows? We might just get hot enough to sneak into that semifinal, but plenty of teams in the conference will have plenty to say about that before the time comes. I think there are quite a few teams that can say what I just said and that is what makes this conference so much fun!

Semifinal Saturday has a shot to feel like mid-00s vintage Semifinal Saturday. If we get like UNI-Indiana State and Loyola-Bradley. Hoo boy, that's a great afternoon of basketball
