Week 8 discussion Thread

Can't believe this didn't get started yet. A couple of OT games last night as Bradley beat MSU 83-79 and Drake beat Valpo 77-75. Loyola also won 84-69.

Drake took a step toward getting out of the PIG, while Valpo and MSU both lost heart breakers which currently puts them in the PIG.

Bradley MSU game was really fun to watch at the end, especially if you were a Bradley fan. Also, apparently there was an altercation in the handshake line where Gage Primm was not happy with a BU fan and/or the BU coaches. Anyone got any more info on this?

hopefully a suspension coming for roid-raging Primm. Need to avoid them at all costs at the Arch. But going after our coach in the handshake line....really?

Courtesy of the officials, it was an ugly game to watch. 51 fouls called is ridiculous, let them play. Probably a different outcome if Da Silva plays, or if anyone but Ford is their coach. It seemed MSU rushed shots often and never tried to run an offense. I saw too many times where a MSU player tried to go one on one, only to throw up a wild and ugly shot. Good win by Bradley though. They play as a veteran team, and seem to always stay calm and stick to their game plan.

Bradley has to get those seats in the middle of the scorer's table out of there for next year. This is at least the second incident there this year after a guy told Ben Jacobson to 'Shut his f****** mouth' earlier this year.

This isn't the NBA. Get fans away from coaches and benches.

I completely agree. It's just asking for trouble putting fans within arm's reach of players and coaches.

It seems The Valley Officials have had a tough year. Someone with more time can pull all of the numbers but 51 in that Mo State game last night is crazy. A couple of games ago when INST came to ILST there were 53 fouls and 65 free throws shot. 50 of the game's 141 were from the foul line. That's absurd. I'm sure there are other instances like this in the conference too.

The issue with officiating is going to be more and more common with the Valley in years going forward. The total number of officials doesn't meet the need. A conference like the Valley is rarely going to get A crews because the Top 6 Conferences will take those officials most nights. We are going to get guys just breaking into the D1 level, or guys past there prime. Which leads to inconsistency and fans complaining.

I agree with the Bradley courtside situation, if they aren't going to fix the problem the conference needs to step in. Was the guy that had an issue last night the same one that was an issue for the UNI game?

The fan had nothing to do with Primm shoving coach Wardle. I think the blame is misplaced here...one team controlled their emotions and one team didnt.

I'm unaware of a fan who had an issue last night. Prim...on the other hand.
