It's a pretty sad situation if all these crazy allegations are true. If these are true, then he needs to go.

Good lord I wish I didn’t look. The mental gymnastics some folks are going through to defend this as just “hearsay” despite only 3 out of 36 folks interviewed defending the man is MINDBLOWING. He can be a great basketball coach and a still an awful person at the same time. The garage incident is ridiculous.

As Goodman started getting in contact with former players, he learned stories about what had been going on inside the basketball program. Despite having more than 36 players at one point come to him in off the record interviews he didn’t feel comfortable with publishing the story without someone going on the record.

Goodman said that some of the players were less willing to go on the record because of the possible backlash they could face.

“Players talked to me but were scared to go on the record because, let’s face it, a lot of them are fearful of what the Wichita State fan base and community is potentially going to say and do to them — especially if Gregg Marshall keeps his job,” he said.

To me these things always get so convoluted when they actually are pretty simple ; while there are obviously a number of issues here that are relevant to the overall case [ verbal abuse, racial statements, etc] to me there is one question to determine if true. If he indeed punched Morris from behind , not a push or a grab, but an actual punch, then he has to go, cut and dried. You might say the same if he choked the assistant, but that can be a bit more complicated, although as his boss it really isn't from a harassment point. But really, did he punch the kid . None of the rest of the info is relevant unless he didn't; then if he didn't you have to measure the accumulation of other stuff, but if he hacked he should be sacked.

After enabling and ignoring Gregg Marshall's antics, Wichita State deserves this mess

Two things happened to the administrators, who clearly did little administrating. They either completely let him run so unchecked to the point where allegedly inflicting harm on players and staff was normalized. Or, the more likely answer, they heard rumblings of his parking lot rage, player confrontations and racist language and simply looked the other way. Let the wins pile up, the money flow and the din of electric winter nights on the court drown out the behavior off it.

Here’s the thing about enabling somebody like that: Abdicating leadership in exchange for wins and ignoring warning signs that appear in front of you are like midnight fireworks. Eventually, the bills come due.

At Wichita State, the bills came due on a dark Thursday. And the most revealing reaction is that no one is surprised. Everyone by now knows exactly who Gregg Marshall is.

Except the Cubs got rid of Russell. Will WSU do the same?

The Cubs let Russell play another year before getting rid of him. They were hoping he'd be decent and flip him for anything at all. But, he sucked. I keep track of him. He sucks in Korea, too which fills my heart with happiness...and I'm a Cubs fan.

I believe they sent him to treatment first, than he did a bunch of minor league rehabbing before they recalled him. The writing was on the wall as soon as he sent for treatment. Maybe he'll come back to manage the Sox?

Winthrop players now adding to the list of abuses by Marshall. He should never coach again and those who enabled this monster (or looked the other way) need to be held accountable. There are more important things than winning.
