I don't think it's been posted here, but Valpo has shut down at this point, and the Valley Season Opener with Bradley has been postponed till a later date.

Any other Valley teams shut down right now?

I don't believe so as UNI is back to practice and ready to go for the weekend.

Bradley vs. Loyola postponed due to positive tests at Bradley. Extremely bummed about this one.

Bradley's next game won't be until January 9th. They haven't played since 12/22 due to Valpo's Covid issues.

Bradley is going to have a tough time getting all 18 in. Another postponement and it's darn near impossible.

ANYONE who fears the virus can choose not to attend. I live in Florida, which opened up May 1 of this year. I have been a visitor to Illinois the last few weeks, and man what a difference! Illinois is still playing ping-pong with "keeping people safe", while my home county in Florida has not seen a fatality in weeks. Restaurants and bars are open, people are pretty much free to do what they are comfortable doing. It is my belief that much of the response by government and university "leadership" has been knee-jerk, and not grounded in the "science" of which they preach. I truly feel sorry for the small business owners in the states who have been bankrupted by politicians who have no clue what it is like to try to make a living in the real world.

I realize who radical this must sound to those who are "bought in" to the panic, but I am not in that universe. And, by the way, I am considered to be in the "high risk" age bracket, but I take care of myself, I would happily attend a game.

I will end this; with more people will die from depression induced overdoses, lack of medical care, and suicide than the non-elderly and frail who are in the last stages of life and will succumb to the virus (or the flu, or a broken hip).

Isn't it weird that all the hospitals "bought in to the panic" and are claiming they are experiencing a crisis while Joe Blows with sports fan degrees think that packing arenas would be hunky dory? Maybe the hospitals are lying because they hate sports. Ya think?

Lord have mercy, Q. 300,000 have died and you think it’s a conspiracy.

Dawgbit, you are 100 pct correct. every word. unfortunately, its attitudes like notitall's that have prevailed thus far and kept us in this hellhole. Never mind that of the 350000 dead, over 75 pct are over the age of 70, most of which had other conditions that would have killed them anyway, and nearly 49 pct were over 80! But in Illinois, these facts are dismissed. We wait for a federal bailout because our govt is among the worst in the nation. We should open everything up, protect the vulnerable and elderly and let those of us willing to take the risk the choice of attending games in person. Those who choose not to are free to stay home. The only ones who currently don't have a choice are those who realize the number you and I have stated are worth the risk of getting on with our lives. There is no science behind any of it, and certainly no "experts". Your immune system is the only thing that will save you or not save you. Play ball

It is people like you that are the reason we are still in the midst of a pandemic when other countries have been able to avoid mass infections and deaths. If you think people of certain age are less valuable, thats your own stupidity, but the fact that idiots like you can spread it to people at the pharmacy and grocery store is a problem.

Edit: We dont need to discuss this here.
