Are they cancelling the mascot like Bradley, or are they cancelling the name and the mascot? Can they just change the name to the Knights, and lose the religious aspect of the mascot? Or is that offensive now as well?

They’re retiring the name. Their student president had gone on a...crusade...of late and went on a twitter rampage equating the name Crusaders to QAnon, etc. Given the lack of RTs/likes, she gave the appearance of an echo chamber. But throw in an interim president whose 15 minutes are up soon and you had the perfect storm.
Their release cites results of a survey but of course won’t provide numbers or details.
Someone somewhere suggested Valparaiso Valkyrie. That sounds cool.

Drama much?
Schools have been changing nicknames and mascots for years now. This isn't new.
