I like it. I know Barry isn't a great coach but he is a great ambassador for the league. Also, I saw an article recently (maybe on here?) that his position at Oklahoma State was eliminated due to COVDI budget issues. He's been working for free for quite some time.

Would much rather see Barry apply for the MVC Commissioner job. Talk about a guy who would promote the league!

Looks like they are losing more than their coach.

Agree 100%. I'm guessing the league opts for a younger, up-and-comer, after having the same voice in the chair for 30 years. But Barry would do an amazing job until he retires.

I would cut that 2:1 ratio and shift $500k from FB to MBB. $2.63M would move ISU from 10th to 8th in MBB budgets. Budget reallocation could bolster MBB finances without tapping into institutional subsidies or student fees.

Keep in mind these numbers include the cost of the scholarships students receive. I don't know if ISU goes up to the limit of 63 scholarships, but if they do that's in the ballpark of $2 million. Cutting $500k from the $2.2 million remaining from football would be a hell of a lot.

I happened to look it up earlier, while considering UE's current financial hardship. Indiana State provided $12.7 million in financial support to their athletics program in 2018 according to the Knight Foundation, and earned less than a million in ticket sales.

I do wonder what ISU's ceiling is. Like, suppose they hire Gregg Marshall and he takes the Trees to consecutive NCAA appearances. Would that be enough to sell out the Hulman Center? I'm not convinced.

If it’s Greggg Marshall, I will be surprised, dismayed, and aghast.

I was going to use Archie Miller as the example, but he's not technically on the job market yet...

Just like the limited steak houses for Gregggggggg in Peoria, I don't think the booze selection in Terre Haute will meet Lynn's demands.

Lincoln Memorial coach Josh Schertz is the frontrunner to replace Greg Lansing at Indiana State, sources told
@stadium

Schertz has won 30-plus games in 6 of the last 7 seasons in D-2 ranks and has a 83% career winning percentage. Extremely well-regarded in coaching circles.

Pay is definitely going to be a step up.

Guy well into his 40s with no experience at any level higher than the Big South.

LOL. Guess you just had to find the guy that thinks $200k is a great salary.
