1. To answer your question Action 10 Evansville started playing annual pre-conference tournaments in the 2012-2013 season. In both that season and the following season Evansville hosted 3 games. From 2014-2015 season thru 2017-2018 season the Aces played at neutral sites in FLA, Los Angles, Nashville, and Cancun. In 2019-2020 the Aces played in the Bahamas. The only 2 games as visiting teams in campus rounds occurred during the 2018-2019 season when Evansville played at Illinois and at Xavier.
2. Ok BCPanther, there are the games and locations. Explain your pretzel logic now how Evansville is more willing to be bought than any other Valley team.

Not trying to ruffle any feathers, I was just curious. I went back and looked, the only tournament where they shared the main part of the bracket with anything close to power conference opponents was the Wooden tournament in LA in 2015-16. Other than that, it has been mid-to-low major bonanza. Very similar to SIU during the Hinson years, maybe worse. Compare that to what teams like Bradley, Illinois State, Indiana State, Loyola, Northern Iowa, and now SIU again are doing... I should have been a little clearer. Even when not being bought, they aren't scheduling neutral site opportunities that will help themselves or the MVC in those events.

Actually, you stated that we played in a lot of on-campus tournaments as the visiting team, not the level of the field.

The biggest issue in scheduling for us was prior to 2018-19, when Simmons was putting together SWAC-loaded home games to pad his record for when he went .500 or worse in the MVC. I seriously doubt he would have taken a loaded MTE if the invites had came. I have no problem with the two non-cons McCarty put together, and last year was what it was. This will be the first year to see what type of non-con schedule Lickliter is capable of putting together. I can assure you very few Aces fans want to see a return of the Marty SWAC Invitational.

As for the buy games, I am more concerned with the schools that repeatedly take buys from other peer conferences. You can't complain when someone perceives a conference like the A-10 superior when we have programs running around taking buys over and over from them. I have zero problem with any type of scheduling mandate the does not allow buys from anyone outside of the P5.

I agree with you for the most part Villan. Being bought by A10 teams is not a good look, and I don't understand why it happens. My thought is that the athletic department is chasing $ without worrying about the optics for their program. Indiana State seems to be a prime example of this, along with Valpo. Indiana State would play in great MTE's with major conference teams, then take a buy game at Dayton. Head scratching if you ask me.

Seems like Evansville plays in a lot of tournaments where they are visiting teams in the campus rounds. Does anyone know why that is? They seem to be the only Valley team that does that.

Easy. You've cited just the ones attached to MTEs. Didn't even include your standalone buy games which you tend to take at least one, if not more, each year.

For comparison, UNI has been bought five times TOTAL in Jake's 15 years. (Syracuse, New Mexico, North Carolina, Colorado, Virginia). I'm guessing Loyola's numbers are similar.

Was UNI bought by North Carolina or was that a 2 for 1 series? As far as I know, no money changed hands on that contract since UNI got a home game.

Home and Home then the last game of the series was a buy. Carolina originally offered a straight home and home for Marcus Paige.

Old Roy might not have been straight as an arrow when it came to academics and recruiting, but some things he did the right way. That kind of scheduling is not likely to occur again, ever.

Good field Good matchups. I'm excited. This is a chance for both programs to make an early statement.
