For UE to compete against these stronger teams, UE must shoot well especially from 3. They were terrible. 26% overall and 27% from 3.
Weak defense, too many turnovers, out hustled, out muscled, out rebounded, out competed.
Returning starters have not improved over last year. Guards Givance and Newton will be ok, the others are just not going to be competitive against these athletic teams. They haven't in 4 years, they will not this year.
Inside game was about as bad as it could be.
Tonight, the Aces looked like the same old weak UE teams us Aces fans have seen for far too many years. Pretty much the same weaknesses every year. They looked like a team that will struggle to win 10 games.
Boo Coach Licklitter. Based on this game, you failed to get this team ready and you failed to recruit at the level required in the MVC. Hope things change for the better.

I loved the Mullins hire and I'm not out on him yet by any stretch but what happened when Domask went out last year and what happened tonight are giving me concerns. Tonight was his worst coached game at SIU, it was awful.

Drake and Loyola will be fine if they take care of business given their names. Missouri State and Northern Iowa have an uphill battle now.
