Commissioner Jackson wasn't there then, and I'm pretty sure there are different members on the expansion committee. It's also to see what projects, renovations, improvements, upgrades, etc. are in the works or the pipeline for these candidates.

Battle to the death between Omaha and Kansas City for the 14th spot with Omaha having a slight edge because the facilities are ready.

Heard it's those 3 and UMKC

That works for me. Big alumni areas and lots of potential students not to mention good recruiting for us.

I also think 14 is the right number. Go to 22 league games and be good with it.

That doesn't work for me. I could Stomach UTA. I could not do the same for UMKC. In 2019-2020 their total attendance was 13,898 and their average attendance was 1,069. Their high attendance was 1,599. Out of 13 games only 8 had more than 1,000.

The metro isn't even that big and neither is the school. 2 winning seasons in the past 10 and 1 20 win season ever. This is not a private school like Loyola, they are not going to and can't dump money into athletics. At least when we took a chance on Loyola they were by far the best academic school so the Valley could hang their hat on that. UMKC does not offer that. And who is going to be excited to play in a 1,500 high school like basketball court?

UMKC plays in their student rec center. Sh*t you not. Have we really sunk that low as a league?

Yep. There's a larger court in the city they used to play in. And for the private schools we have.

Part of the agreement if they were to come in is a long term lease with Municipal Auditorium and an on campus facility for VB and WBB.

Don't care what they play in. Absolutely no history, no tradition, no interest, no thank you!

This will be a long rant, so please bear with me... Seems to me that all of college athletics have lost the plot with conference realignment, with the Big East and Atlantic 10 being the possible exceptions. I know times are changing, but this is getting out of hand. Historical regional, and often in-state, rivalries are lost due to realignment. Who are Maryland and Rutgers rivals with in the Big Ten? Do fans of either school get really excited to see any name of any conference team come to their arena? Does Missouri have a true rival in the SEC? I would think a home and home between Missouri and Kansas is the Big 12 would mean more to Missouri than anything the SEC can offer them, except for money. This is all driven by money.

Im more bullish on UTA than others. If anyone thinks these are no brainer decisions they are fooling themselves.

Many MVC fans hated adding UNI. That has been great. Loyola got RIPPED when they joined. Everyone loved Evansville.

It's why I'm not as high on Murray State as others. You should be adding a school based on their future, not their past. Adding a lesser version of SIU but in Kentucky doesn't seem like a forward thinking move.

It's why I kind of like UTA. But that doesn't extend to UMKC. Hate them. Don't like Omaha either. Hell, they don't fit geographically but I would put money that St. Thomas will be a legitimate program/school in 10 years. Lots of money. Great location. Only one other D1 school in the state.

I agree... The problem is that fans and media don't constantly think of the additional revenue, they constantly see wins and losses and games they can get excited about. Some coaches lose their jobs over losing games and not winning a league that their school probably shouldn't be in to begin with. Oklahoma going to the SEC probably played some factor in their football coach leaving for USC. What is Oklahoma football is the SEC? They are trading being the top program in the Big 12 and having multiple trips to the CFP for the revenue that the SEC provides. Oklahoma looks like the 4th or 5th best program in the SEC and therefore not making the CFP. I know the money is huge, but on a sports level that is completely lunacy.
