I am looking forward to seeing half the bowl filled with blue and gold-clad fans at Arch Madness.

I don't even mind that there's going to be another MSU! Though there is a chance that Missouri State fans may remind you at basketball games, correctly and obnoxiously, that "Murray" is not a state.

Let’s go ahead and get these out of the way…

Murray is not a state. Already have seen that one a few times and it gets less funny every time.

Bill Murray St.

Muck Furray. That one was a popular Austin Peay go to. Even had tshirts made up one year.

Anything mule related.

Well, you're going to see it a few more times. It was the running joke when Wichita State was in the conference, and since they've left there hasn't been anybody else to make the joke about.

Why are mules relevant?

Mules were more of a WKU gag. We used to be called the Thoroughbreds when we first started out, and our baseball team actually still goes by that, and so it started that way.

Should put some juice back into Arch Madness once we clear COVID.

Couple Murray's contingent with the good groups that UNI and Bradley are already bringing and get SIU and Illinois State back to bringing good groups and we could get back to darn near filling the building again.

How well does Belmont travel? They're about as far away as UNI is.

I'm glad the public presidents took over and made the right decision. Presidents Smart and Nook should be commended for making the Jackson hire and getting expansion right. I think we're a better league next year, even without Loyola. Loyola made the right institutional move, I'm not sure they made the right athletic move.

Belmont was usually good for half filling one section during the tournament at the Ford Center. Not sure about how they will travel to St Louis.

I cannot even begin to say how thrilled I am to have Murray State on board....a long time coming and I am glad common sense prevailed. Such a no brainer of a decision. I have enjoyed the rivalry the Aces have shared with them and the excitement they bring. Arch Madness will be a lot more fun. The MVC will be a two bid league in most seasons....maybe more.

I fully expect UIC to be the next team admitted. At that point I think the league should be done. I would keep an eye on St. Thomas.

Funny thing is Loyola basically did that before they upgraded the Gentile Center and won some basketball games. Going to games there in the late 90's 'early 2000's was like going to a JUCO game.
