Kanaskie would have loved to have been 7-40 in MVC to start his career. In all seriousness, I don't know what his MVC record was after 47 games, but since he started 0-36, he would've had to be 7-4 to begin his 3rd season to get to 7-40. Pretty sure that did not happen. Still, an absolutely brutal stretch by UE.

There wouldn’t be much of an outcry if Lick didn’t get a seat for the ride home.
It’s not all on his shoulders, but he is vaguely aware that there is a basketball game being played.

Had to look it up. Curiosity got me.

His first 47, he was 2-45.

The fact that this is the comparison we're making probably doesn't bode well for UE...

What happened to Lickliter? He was amazing at Butler. That stint in Iowa City must have totally broken him.

Butler was great at Butler. Not Lickliter. The only school he hasn’t been fired at is Butler (that includes his HS coaching career).

Butler outspent the entire league by a bunch and were recruiting kids
To play in Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indy over Youngstown St and Green Bay.

Also: he is running the same offense now that he ran then, only by now, everyone in College Basketball knows the term “overhelp”. It’s like Carl Spackler cutting Judge Smalls Achilles = just never works the same.

Mosley is the best non-Krutwig player we've seen in the Valley in some time. What a talent.

He sure knows how to score in a variety of ways. Other than St Mary's in the second half (he was dominant in the first half against them) nobody has really been able to shut him down. Just a couple of areas he needs to improve--he really doesn't dribble very well if pressured, too many turnovers. He also really cant play defense at all.

It’s simple. UE is a bad basketball team. Look at the MVC team stats. They are last in most categories. They are the worst rebounding, and offensive and defensive shooting % team. Coming into the season, the 3 was going to make or break them. They have had many open looks in every game, but they do not have the players to make those shots consistently. They are the worst 3-point shooting team in the MVC.

They have no size or physicality to stop opponent’s penetration or to control the defensive board.

The team is weak physically and mentally. They are soft.

Sure, they have 2 good guards in Newton and Givance, but neither seems able to create his own shot. Yes, they both can create a wild shot and make it every now and then, but they cannot create an easy, dependable shot for themselves against MVC teams.

The other 2 seniors are not at the level of starter in the MVC, yet they are getting the most minutes. If given time to set up they used to be able to shoot the 3, but not this year. They have been terrible in every category.

2 of the starting seniors are leftovers from Marty Simmons and the other 2 are from McCarty. If Licklitter returns, he must prevent any more transfers and pick up size and an experienced confident scorer in the portal. UE must look for tough, confident players if they are ever to be competitive in the MVC again.

It was really easy to follow Thad Matta and then double everybody else's budget.

Bradley was really good against him for 39 minutes and 59 seconds. Alas...
