Yes, we are all well aware of your obsession with keeping NDSU out of your precious conference, and that burr in your saddle that you are still grinding away on from 1975. The only thing I’ve seen lately from UNI being in the MVFC with NDSU is a lot of losing. It must really hurt your feelings, sorry about that. Ndsu is bring something to the table. A lot of it. May not be the basketball side but that shouldn't matter. 9 natty in 11 years. They literally bring more accomplishments than any other school.

NDSU does indeed bring something truly special... In FCS Football... Unfortunately as I have said numerous times FCS football is wholly irrelevant to the MVC and its goals as a league. It is a basketball first conference with a strong overall profile of Olympic sports which are still secondary to basketball. I can't see The Bison getting an invite while they remain this football-centric. They have a decent overall athletic department and I think just achieved R1 status which is great but as long as NDSU is such an ardent football school I can't see the MVC which is a deliberately separate entity from the MVFC being interested.

The MVC isn't a football conference. Winning the island of misfit toys that is the FCS does little to help the MVC.

They pay a fortune for those 3 hours on ESPN2 in January that get fewer viewers than the Boca Raton Bowl. So, good for them I guess.

If that had enough value to overcome their geography they'd be long gone by now.

The old NDSU and SDSU debate. Currently SDSU is 18-4 and NDSU is 14-7. I'd still love to have them, but it will never happen. The MVC just moved south into Tennessee and it's just hard to imagine a school in TN and one of the Dakotas being in the same league. And the reality is that we have 12 schools now that are pretty tight geographically. We really don't need 14, and at this point I'm just hoping that UIC actually ends up being a decent add.

Agreed. This is the MVC, not the MVFC which the scholarship MVC teams are already a part of.

In this case I think it really comes down to what St. Thomas does. The privates will want them if they turn out decent. If that happens and the MVC goes for them I think the two State Dakotas come, as well. It's literally like 45 extra minutes on a plane at that point. Then they will pair them UTA, Milwaukee, or NKA. Which ever one decides to pay up.
