The AD needs to go with him. That entire department is finishing last in everything. Tear it down and start over.

They'll get candidates because it's a Valley job but it's going to take a Herculean effort to get even to respectable.

Not really. McCarty got it done in less than a year. He put together a team that beat UK and Murray State very quickly. They would have probably competed in the top half of the MVC that year. Of course, he had other issues that has brought the program down further than it was when he took over.

Evansville is a great place for college basketball. UE has outstanding facilities and the Ford Center is an incredible venue. The fans are some of the best.

Yes, it will take lots of work but the right leadership and staff will get it back to competing in the MVC within a year or 2.

Are these legitimate sources, or the same ones that had you convinced Arlington was in and Murray was out? I hope you're right, but I have heard nothing that would confirm it.

The AD absolutely must go. It has been widely discussed that his contract expires at the end of the school year. He is completely out of sight, and has been for some time. His actions are clearly just mailing it in this year. We could go post after post of the idiotic things he has done, but since the McCarty disaster, he panicked and hired Lickliter, instead of doing a national search at the end of the season. He has moved all weeknight games to 6:00, which knocks out just about anyone with a job or family, and has refused to have the pep band at the games. He has told people that today's crowds don't want that kind of music. He is completely out of touch, and has an ego that has turned off many community boosters and fans.

I don't know about herculean. With the right people, our resources and facilities should allow us to run with anyone in the league...but you have to have the right people. They will have to get it 100% right with both the AD and coach hire this time. On Monday, a 10K student school across town is going to vote on going D-1. It is pretty much confirmed they are, and will be in the OVC next year. If they hit the ground running, and UE continues to stagnate, it could get pretty ugly. Evansville can support two D-1 programs, but one can't be winning while the other mailing it in every year.

The tweet was from @CoachingChanges and they've got a pretty good track record. Run by a group of old DOBOs and Assistants that have stayed connected through shoe companies.

And it absolutely would have been Arlington if Loyola stayed. :D

No it wouldn't have. You're just making up things like usual and trying to cover for yourself. Loyola was not that influential and if by some miniscule chance it was true (which it wasn't) than Hallelujah, Thank Jesus they did leave! Frankly I'm glad Loyola is leaving anyways, because UIC actually has baseball.

McCarty was also left a program in a lot better shape than the one that the next guy is getting. Marty was far from perfect but he left the program better than he found it.

It's not that Loyola is influential, it's that with them going you needed a basketball add rather than trying to get another market. Changed everything because they weren't exactly upfront with the league that they were taking to to the A10.

Now, per your request, I've left your posts alone no matter how bad they are. You can feel free to do the same with mine and kindly f*** all the way off.

Loyola doubling Mosely every time he dribbles leaving Primm one on one. Primm will have 40 instead of Mosely if it continues to be played that way. I suspect changes get made. Great game so far.

I totally agree about that team needing to be in the NIT. Seems like the reputation Marty had for scheduling hurt them. They did play 4 MEAC/SWAC teams and 1 non-D1 team that year, so I guess that reputation was well earned. Losing to Providence hurt in Anaheim because it kept them from chances against two ranked teams in the winners bracket (Arizona and Michigan State).

Anybody else getting the feeling that Loyola might be the 4th best of that top group?

It just sucks that they were the only ones that remotely lived up to expectations in November and December.

Exactly. They beat the teams they were supposed to. The other 3 didn't

I agree with you on Coaching Changes, but like DUBulldog pointed out, it was a retweet from one of our fans. AcesReboot is obviously one of our die-hard fans, and God love him for that, but he also tweeted a photoshopped picture of an introductory press conference for Chris Mack wearing a UE cap and vest.

If what you are saying about Arlington and Murray is true, then let me hold the door for Sister Jean.
