Loyola will leave the Valley with a winning conference record against every single Valley team.

Over the past four seasons, Loyola players have taken home three Larry Bird MVC Player of the Year trophies. Those three are more than Missouri State and Evansville have taken home combined, despite those programs being in the Valley since 1990 and 1994, respectively. It is also as many as Indiana State and Illinois State have each won, despite those programs being in the Valley since 1977 and 1981, respectively. It is also as many as Bradley has won since 1988!

I can't believe Indiana State didn't take home the Larry Bird Trophy in 1977.

Bradley won the POY trophy 4 straight years from 86-89 (Les, Hawkins, Hawkins, Manuel). It's no guarantee of future success.

I gotta address Caterpillar, sorry. Cat moving its HQ to Deerfield doesn't make them more blue collar. Just the opposite. Only the creme de le creme (CEO and other high ranking executives) moved up to Deerfield. The blue collar factory jobs are either still around Peoria or moved South where regulations are lax. I can't believe you thought the Cat HQ moving made you more blue collar.

Again, Congratulations.

Those players are all gone now and won't help you in the A10.

I don't understand the need to be praised.

I think we got the absolute peak of the Loyola program. Thanks for the cash.

You just flat weren't around long enough to truly develop feelings for one way or another. We're also sorry that we'd prefer a team that is going to be around the Valley to win the title.

I don't understand the need for random "Loyola sucks" shots. So yeah, I am going to respond to that.

Glad the "absolute peak" of Loyola is a higher peak than any Valley program will likely see.

Loyola never ended its season on a Thursday in Arch Madness. It only played on Thursday twice (2014 and 2016) in its nine years in the MVC, beating the Bradley Braves both times.

Rambler63 wrote:So here we are with 90% of the MVC rooting against us to create the possibility of the MVC a two-bid league this year.... Like we did last year.... Because if we're beaten Saturday and in the early rounds of Arch Madness, we're out, and the MVC is a 1-bid league. At least that's how I understand it.

See? People in this league would rather burn money in a giant bonfire than accept Loyola.

So are you saying if Loyola wins tomorrow you'll be rooting for Loyola to lose in St. Louis to create a two-bid league? Of course not. This is not how it works. We all root for our teams to win as many games as possible.

When the conference backs into multiple bids at the conference tournament, that's a great bonus and we all become fans of the team(s) who make the post-season to advance as far as possible. But the time to root for other conference teams to make multiple bids is during the non-conference in November/December.

I don't get all of the hysteria. You're leaving. It's fine. But when you do that you should expect some criticism on a fan message board. It isn't like we're all good personal friends and it's going to be incredibly sad to see you go, and please stay in touch, and we will visit next Christmas, and all of that. :?

Loyola holds a 15-7 overall record against Bradley since joining the Valley, including a 3-1 record in St. Louis.
