Was quickly denied by MSU sports info dept. Don't think Sunbelt is where we want to be.

How often is something refuted or immediately denied just to get out in front of the situation, only to have the denial be untrue?! We shall see.

The name "Sun Belt" would become false advertising when a basketball team went to UNI in January.

I'm not sure there's much relevance between conference names and the reality of who their members are anymore for most conferences.

I think some posters on here who don’t believe Missouri state is in active talks with FBS Conferences is going to be very surprised one day in the not too distant future to find out that they have accepted an invitation.

As for Missouri State denying it, that’s what they always do. That’s their track record for everything that the university does. They always deny until they make the announcement.

Whether we are in conversation or whether we aren't , the point is, it's not the University that is saying these things , so basically we have no control on it being tweeted, reported, or conjectured about. The only statement by the University regarding anything related to moving is that "we like the Valley, it's the SEC of FCS football , and it's a great basketball league ". That and " we are in great position and simply want to monitor the ongoing realignment news so we can be prepared if an opportunity we like presents itself". Frankly, if at least 3-4 other Universities in this conference aren't doing the same, you'd have to ask, why not. Obviously, Loyola was , and they didn't make any formal statements either, till it was a done deal.

Personally, I hope we hang with the MVC and hope that a football solution presents itself for all the upper level FCS programs along with the G-5.
