In that case there isn't an argument on any side as the sample size of the transfer portal is still really, really small since it's so new.

The big schools weren't nearly as interested in recruiting the minor leagues when the players had to sit out a year. Now any coach that is low on players can just snatch them right up without wasting a scholarship with a player sitting out. They are probably also telling certain high school players to go somewhere else and talk to me after you've developed. I'm sure there are players signing with mid-majors now who have no intention of staying once they prove their worth.

I agree. Everyone is just speculating what we think is going to happen. Personally, I think that the transfer portal is going to help Power 5s and hurt mid majors. I have no concrete way of backing that up or disproving it at the moment.

Agreed.

Actually who I think it will REALLY hurt the most is D2 teams. Indiana State just got a commitment from a two time All American from Truman State. Hard to replace that.

Maybe Schertz should consider recruiting DI players. Just a thought...

Walk-On.

The two Drake players in the transfer portal scored a total of 10 points this season.

Per his twitter post, @underratedd_ Murray's D.J. Burns is staying put.
