He had an 8 game stretch after Penn got hurt where he played at a level that he hadn't flashed before.

Apparently Bill Self saw something in the kid to give him a scholarship on a national championship caliber team, did he not? Reeves was a good player in the Valley, but it doesn't mean that will translate to the SEC, although the run and gun style UK runs may benefit Reeves the most.

Yet he never stopped recruiting the position because he was so sold on Yesefu...

Mosley in the portal. Probably has six-figures waiting for him somewhere in the P5.

Oh how times have changed from when you all were preaching about how much better the MVC was going to be than the A10. The transfer portal has been a nightmare for the MVC which was already a one bid league.

I don't think so; yeah we are losing some stars , but I see teams getting a lot of quality out of the portal to fill their rosters. And if you think it's not happening in the A-10 then look at Bonnie, who lost their entire starting 5 and is returning exactly 4 points now.

I look at us [MSU] , and we've had a great year in the portal. We were losing Prim to graduation, and Mosley was always gonna be tough to keep 4 years . We lost some role players around those two[ Black, Patterson, Sharp, Haney] but got a lot better return on paper. I love our roster right now; whether we can get that many moving parts in sync , we'll see. Other teams do it .

I just think this is the way it's gonna be for most teams below the elite [ and the A-10 isn't among em] , that being adjust or struggle . Yes we will lose elite talent, but yes, we can access better talent than what we generally had , via the same mechanism - the portal. I don't like it, but it's like anything else; figure out how to make it work .

Hmmm... It appears to me that the portaling going on at St. Bonaventure and Duquesne is more than helping the Valley move past the A-10.

Indeed the Valley is experiencing change, but in a lot cases (programs) the changes are positives. Some programs are replacing their transfers with equal to better signees. We shall see though, what actually transpires on the court! Until then though, the Valley > A-10 in '22-'23.

I’m an MVC guy 110 percent but some of you are delusional. 2022-23 will be the weakest MVC in years. A one-bid league for sure unless AJ Green returns and UNI wins big in the non-con and then stumbles in St. Louis. I don’t want that to be the case but we all need to be realistic.
