Illinois State made a good hire, think Indiana State is making progress, Belmont & Murray are established programs that will build up in the next few years, UIC will see a bump. But right now the top of the MVC is pretty bad. Think of the year or two after Wichita left the Valley bad.

Speaking of Wichita State, I saw where the good schools in their conference that are leaving are actually leaving after this next season. They probably only have 1 more year of being in a top 10 basketball conference

Man, I'd forgotten how bad their adds were from a basketball standpoint.

North Texas and UAB are solid but UTSA, Charlotte, FAU and Rice? Woof.

Good point. I would add that success at North Texas seems VERY coach dependent. Watch for a falloff if they have a coaching change.

Added to the portal: Illinois State's lone freshman from last season. Both were redshirted walk-ons, Julian Samuels and Elijah Williams.

Williams is a interesting as he hasn't been listed on the official roster since the end of the season but has been competing in the long jump for the Birds T/F team. Seems he's doing pretty well and could have a nice college career doing T/F events.

Also...Dana better get a game with Northwestern State pronto. That'd be a fun one.

Any updates on Mosley?

Won't likely be any until he knows what his draft status/professional options are. Lot of big schools involved now , KU,Duke, NC, Texas Tech, Louisville.

I get the whole portal thing and why we are where we are, but I still think it is wrong and problematic that transfers are allowed in-conference. These types of transfers should not be allowed.

Just curious, why ? Makes perfect sense for both player and school as far as known commodity both ways.
