Basketball is a lot different than it was in the 2000's. Good offense beats good defense.

That's not accurate. Bradley did offer.

Seems to be more of a pick and pop big, but the word is that he has some good athleticism for a guy his size. Overall think its a good pickup for us.

I figured he might end up in the Valley. Bradley had him on campus but didn't offer. Just not many minutes (on paper) for a big man at this time. Ended up getting Goanar Biliew from Des Moines Area CC.

I do kind of like Northweather though.

Also puts you in the discussion for when his brother inevitably transfers from Oklahoma.

At the highest level I would agree with that. But not at the mid major level. Once a mid major gets into post season, they better be able to defend, typically they aren't going to be able to outscore the big boys one-on-one. St. Peter's held opponents to an average of 68 points in their tournament run.

That would be news to the Bradley coaches but it doesn’t really matter now.

I agree with that. Saint Peter’s was 231st in offense this year by KenPom but won because they were 25th overall in defense but even still, Saint Peter’s might not have made the Tournament if Iona doesn’t lose in their conference tournament.

I am not sure how that would be news to them since they sat there and offered him.

UIC gets commitment from 6'3" Cal State Bakersfield Transfer Guard, Shaun Williams. Was a 3-star recruit out of high school. Initially signed with Kansas State, then spent 2 years at Bakersfield.

I think the points allowed as a measure of defense is meaningless. The points allowed by a team is predominantly determined by pace of play. IF you play slow, the other team will score less. A much more meaningful statistic would be points allowed per possession. also it is not really fair to judge a team with a high powered offense who is blowing teams out by the points allowed. Obviously defense becomes much less sticky when you lead by 20.

First post should be updated. I'm surprised there are still so many without destinations. Coaches will want players on campus in a couple weeks. I believe in order to participate in "official team workouts," that a kid has to be enrolled in summer classes.

ILSTs Elijah Williams (walk on) had a solid year for the Redbirds Track and Field team. He’s opted to forgo that opportunity and play basketball at D2 Lewis.

Probably one of the bigger surprises this portal off-season is that ILSTs Abdou N’diaye has committed to Seton Hall. He was a very highly touted recruit out of high school. Chose the Birds over Wichita State (consistent top 25 at the time), UNLV, Ole Miss and Georgetown. Never really developed under Muller and didn’t put up gauge numbers to go P6. Good for him. For getting the opportunity.
