There still seem to be some comments that shift around and say the same thing despite the clarification.
Saying the Aces will still be in last place is fine even though the UE supporters aren't arguing otherwise ... no, we never said they'd win anything, so it would be nice to stop claiming we did.
I also wonder about the definition of "late in the process" for hiring a coach, as if hiring one in April is a long stretch better than hiring one in May. For all we know, the only difference is when the announcement was made. If you hired one in January, chances are you would be in pretty deep doo-doo as well, so how would that be better? You'd have all of February to recruit players who are still in games with, you know ... other teams.
If I look at rosters in the MVC right now, I seriously will not be able to determine whether any of these teams can beat the Aces in front of an energized Ford Center crowd with a roster of hungry kids who have more of an offense than to milk the 30-second clock and hope the guy in the corner has a lateral move that can get off a 3-ball before the buzzer sounds.
If you didn't watch the Aces the last 2 years, you were spared that agony.
I suspect you will not see that now.
Late in the process, Dave Ragland also isn't a rookie coach.
So it would be nice if the detractors would stop claiming Aces fans are predicting an NCAA berth. What we are predicting is that we might actually have a reason to see something that resembles an attachment to success. I think we deserve that.
